Caroline Hicks, Ph.D


Dr. Caroline Hicks is a Licensed Psychologist. They received their B.S. at South Dakota State University, and earned their Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to joining CAPS, Dr. Hicks completed their internship and psychology residence at Virginia Tech. While they have been trained as a generalist, Dr. Hicks’s interests include Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Development, Interpersonal Concerns, Trauma, and Clinical Training. Their research interests include impacts of minority stress on factors of suicidality. Dr. Hicks’s approach to counseling integrates concepts from interpersonal, cognitive behavioral and multicultural theories. This allows for a unique collaborative relationship with each person focused on achieving their goals, while increasing their confidence in coping and connecting with others.
