Lab and Radiology Services

A Quest Diagnostics lab technician is available at the Student Health Center (SHC) Monday through Friday from 9:10 am - 12:20 pm, and 1:30 pm - 4:10 pm. The lab is closed on weekends. Laboratory tests drawn by Quest at the SHC must be ordered by a SHC provider.  For testing ordered by your home clinician, you may go directly to any Quest lab in the area. If you would like the tests to be done at the SHC you will need to make an appointment with a SHC provider to order the tests (there will be a fee associated with this visit).

After getting an order from a provider at the SHC (or if your home clinician has provided you with an order), same day services are available for x-ray studies only. You will need to call to schedule appointments for ultrasound, CT scans or MRIs. It is your obligation to ensure your insurance will cover the study ordered. Please bring your order form and your insurance card with you to your appointment.

Obtaining Your Lab Results

All laboratory and radiology results will be transmitted to our office. We do not routinely call with normal lab and radiology results. If you haven’t received a copy of your results by message via the patient portal in 3-5 days, you can call (202) 994-8951 during normal business hours or message your provider via the portal to obtain results.

Abnormal results will be provided via phone, in-person, or portal, whichever is most appropriate, per provider discretion and based on a discussion with the patient at the time the tests are ordered.

Our clinical providers may make other arrangements with their patients on a case by case basis (i.e., they may choose to notify a patient of a normal result when the result may change the plan of care).

You may also obtain your laboratory results directly from Quest:

  1. Visit the Quest website
  2. Select "Sign Up"
  3. Select "Register Now"
  4. You will have access to review and print your results. Please use this option if you need to obtain a PDF copy of your results.
