Laboratory Services

A Quest Diagnostics lab technician is available at the Colonial Health Center, Monday-Friday, 9am-12:30pm, 1:30pm-4:30pm. The lab is closed on weekends. Laboratory tests drawn by Quest at the CHC must be ordered by a CHC provider.  For testing ordered by your home clinician, you may go directly to any Quest lab in the area.  If you would like the tests to be done at the CHC you will need to make an appointment with a CHC provider to order the tests (there will be a fee associated with visit).

Please ensure Quest is In Network or is a preferred lab for your insurance carrier before labs are drawn/collected. All fees incurred will be your responsibility.

Radiology Services

Patients who need imaging studies are sent to Washington Radiology Associates or George Washington University Hospital Radiology.  After getting an order from a provider at the CHC (or if your home clinician has provided you with an order), walk in services are available for x-ray studies only.  You will need to call to schedule appointments for ultrasound, CT scans or MRIs.  It is your obligation to ensure your insurance will cover the study ordered.  Please bring your order form and your insurance card with you to your appointment.

All laboratory and radiology results will be transmitted to our office.

We do not routinely call with normal lab and radiology results. If you haven’t received a copy of your results by message via the patient portal in 3-5 days, you can call 202-994-8951 during normal business hours or message your provider via the portal to obtain results.   

Abnormal results will be provided via phone, in-person, or portal, whichever is most appropriate, per provider discretion and based on a discussion with the patient at the time the tests are ordered.   

Our clinical providers may make other arrangements with their patients on a case by case basis (i.e., they may choose to notify a patient of a normal result when the result may change the plan of care).
