COVID Update: Fall 2023
While COVID cases are rising slightly nationally and in Washington, D.C., community levels in Washington, D.C. are still low.
Since the end of the public health emergency, students are no longer required to report COVID to the SHC or to the university. In addition, SHC will no longer track your isolation and release you from isolation.
If you are a GW student who has tested positive for COVID, please use the following guidelines:
- If you are having significant symptoms (chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, etc), please go to the closest Emergency Room.
- If you are having concerning symptoms that you think warrant a consultation with a clinician, or if you need paxlovid or other treatments due to an underlying medical condition, please call 202-994-5300 during business hours to set up a Telehealth appointment with one of our providers. You may also try to set up an appointment with AcademicLiveCare.
- If you are calling to get advice about isolation procedures and if you are trying to understand when you can go back to class, please follow CDC guidelines.
- Once you are feeling better, please stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines.
- You should also plan to get this seasons' Flu vaccine!
