Jay Dismukes, LCSW, LCAS

Jay Dismukes is a senior clinician and substance use specialist with CAPS. He received his master's in social work from Columbia University in New York City, where he lived for about 18 years. During his time in New York, he worked primarily with individuals living with substance use challenges, HIV/AIDS, and difficult relationship histories.
Jay began working solely with university students in 2021 at the University of North Carolina in Asheville, where he resided for several years with his family before moving to the D.C. area in the late summer of 2023.
When he is not at GWU or with his family Jay usually is trying to play guitar. It remains very much a work in progress.
